Mounting EQ Help

I'm probably going to get an EQ soon but before I do I wanted to know where a good place to mount it is seeing as I have a single DIN head unit. There is a potential spot that has 1.25" clearance and 5" depth and a little more then 7" width (Picture included below) I was wondering if this was a good place to mount it and if so how you would do it or if there is an adapter or way I can rig it up. Let me know ideas. Car is a 2001 Dodge Neon

Was considering an EQ so I can use it to give me more Preamps as my headunit only has 2 pairs. Also needed a bass control since Alpine isn't compatible with the normal ones. Last resort I'll upgrade HU's

Kenwood makes an EQ that might fit in that space, the 4042, but they arent made anymore and anyone who has one seems to think its worth more used than they cost new.

they have mounting brackets it will work trust me
