mounting depth + enclosure space.

i am making a custom subwoofer inclosure. and was just wandering.... (its a somewhat triangualr shaped box due to the spaze and size of my vehicle.)

how much room should be left for the subs between the end of the sub and the box? so long as the mounting depth is securely in there with a couple inches to spare is that safe? there will be enough space in the box. for the air to go around. however. im just not so sure about right behind it. does it matter?

Vented pole pieces or not?

Usually, an inch or two is fine.
