Mounting amps upside down?

what amp is it? the cooling fins are designed to radiate heat upwards, and would radiate back onto the amp, and possibly overheat it.
Havent bought anything yet. I am quite new to car audio and have been reading/searching for a month already trying to get all the info i can. I only posted this because i didnt find this discussed somewhere else. If anyone can point me to an amp that would work upside down that would be great. As far as subs i am either getting a single 12 mag or 2 12 mags both in sealed(not enough room in truck for ported without sacrificing alot of space.) i know someone on my other forum (f150online) is running 2 12 mags underfire in his super crew and I would like something like his

Are there any problems with mounting amps upside down? Reason i ask is i have a super crew f150 and i would like to mount them upside down from the overhead storage rails. Some people have said upside down amps would be a problem. would they?
IMO any quality amp should be able to do it w/o much problem, but you WILL be making life harder for it than it would be otherwise.

Running it at/near full output a lot and/or at/near minimum rated impedance will only make matters worse.

It's like running a basic amp bridged below 4 ohms. Some amps do it w/o any trouble, others struggle.

Why don't you just mount the amps behind the rear seat like most do? They are hidden and have enough ventilation. I can have 4 amps back there...although I only have 3 right now.

Like I mentioned on f150online...upside down mounted amps can cause problems when they start getting warm.

Amps should come with a cooling fan on each end to send a crossflow through the case. duh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/slap.gif.87520e8ca8e90076ac30e777c0de5331.gif
So you're saying ALL amps come with cooling fans?? Or are you saying they all should?

I would mount them under a seat or on the back wall of the cab before I would mount them upside down.
