WHADDUP!

been a loooooong time since ive been on this forum, for those who ive done business with on here and would frequently talk to, hows it going! lol

anyways... I came on here because im gettin my bike soon, harley davidson street glide, and want to upgrade the stock audio system. I dont know ***** about bike systems or how theyre put together, cant imagine its that much different from cars. but I was tryin to see if someone can point me in the right direction to learn more about their setups (HD's). This forum taught me everything I know about car audio, I couldnt find anything like this site for bikes. Im tryin to learn as much as possible about amp setups in bags and speaker placement. any help would be appreciated.

feels good to be back.....i also got a lot of catching up to do on some of the newer technology out these days, been outta the game for 2 years //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

nothing really that special about them fairing must be removed for radio removal and speaker installation. Factory you have 5.25 speakers all around and in most cases there is space to mount a tweeter for a component system near the mid. The battery is under the seat which will removed with one bolt at the back of the seat. If you plan to mount an amplifier in a saddle bag you will need a right angle drill adapter as there is no space to work with in there. The hardest part about working on a bike is getting wire from behind the fairing passed the gas tank and to the battery or saddlebag.

pull a trailer behind the motorcycle with all your audio equipment in there. like 1 sa 10 some hat componets and 2 decent 2 channel amps that are old school and compact with lots of power like a lil wonder rubicon

i've heard a few bikes with an Alpine HU and the KTP-445 that do pretty well. there are some Hog Tunes Harley specific speakers that do ok. getting good seals and high efficiency speakers is key. you want a perfect fit with minimal fabrication.

there we go! finally got some responses!

What im really looking to learn is how the saddle bags are set up. Ive seen numerous setups with amps in the bags but i really have no idea how theyre mounted in there with out getting to hot. running the speakers is what has me scratching my head, it the way the amps are set up.

some of the system's i've seen on bikes used marine speakers but also some fiberglass work was involved and these werent on HD's,. The key is to not tax the bikes electrical system too much because it's not on the same level as a car obviously so you have to be efficient

you can DIY these
