Mothaf*ckin amp quit workin

So i was bumpin at 1/3rd volume and all bass just cuts out.. No crackle, smell, warning.. NOTHING..

I hop out and all Wires in the trunk are in place and tight.. No settings on HU are changed.. and get this, THE amp is STILL ON.. all lights light up, power led is on.. never flashed or went into protect.. just no sound

It didnt get hot. I just started the car, it was about 40degrees outside and pulled out thedrive way, music was on 2mins tops.. at 1/3rd volume? Mids/highs amp is playing beautifully

tips, things to check?

not yet.. Its sort of a ***** to get out

1)make sure RCAs are still connected to line driver, line driver is connected

2) check sub wiring in the box

3) hook another sub to amp and see if it works

Just disconnect the sub from the amp's input terminals and use a DMM to determine if the amp is still functioning as it should. Use a 9 volt battery to the speaker wire on your sub to determine if it's the sub.

On a side note, I've had nothing but problems with Massive amps.

Umm, have you checked the connections inside your sub box?
i highly doubt it is that, check and see if your remote turn on wire bare copper is in the terminal secure and tight. If the wire insulation is being pinched it will cause the amp to turn off when you are driving.

your better off taking it out and checking it.

My remote wire is fine.. Amp doesnt cut off until i turn the ignition off.. It lights up.. Top illumination and power led are on like normal

I've had a NIB 3000.1 go bad out of the box. A NIB 800.4 started to die one channel at a time. A 400.4 that did the exact same thing as the 800.4, and no, it wasn't because of my install because I used different amps and they didn't blow.

****, it fried and still lit up and pwered on perfectly??

Tomorrow I am pull the GF's car up tp mine and running Speaker wire extensions from my sub to her bxi1606D, if my sub plays then my Amp is shot and is coming out

if I hook my sub to her amp and it doesnt play, the sub is coming out and All wiring is being checked and re-tested, if still failure, then i am hookin my amp to her DD 1515 at low volume to see if my sub is taken a shat...

If so, i see a recone and Platinum cap in my future

I re-checked all my RCA's under the dash today and all are connected fine, i even unconnected and re- connected them, checked the other connections to the linedriver... all fine!!! its gotta be the sub or amp...Best case, the sub came unhooked insidethe box and i can re-tape the connections... Alything else to look at?
