most powerful battery..?

I want the most powerful battery I can get to replace my stock one. I do NOT want to add any in the back. I just want one up front but I want it to be one bad son of a gun. I do not plan on playing with the engine shut off, so that isnt a factor. I just want the best battery I can get as far as for keeping my car audio running good. It needs to fit in my 1990 Chevy Blazer S10 (gm style posts and what not).

Running 1500-1700 (depending on birth sheet) RMS on 1/0 gauge wire.

Ive looked at the Red top and yellow top...but is there more power out there for more money?

You have a measurement of how much you have to work with?

And I vote for Kinetik as well. Theres none better in my opinion for us daily beater folk.

You can have the biggest battery you want under the hood, If your alternator cant supply the current that the amp is drawing, You will have dimming and voltage drops. You should with out a doubt put a good deep cycle under the hood, But if you plan on running that much power you will need a HO alt.

Edit: If all your running is 1500w, put an optima or a kinetik under the hood. If you still have dimming then you will need a HO alt.

I have 3200+ RMS on a stock alternator so that is not necessarily true in all cases...

Cure to dimming = HIDs.

Seriously??!! Yeah man, cure to dimming lights, How bout that you still have bad voltage drops over the rest of your electrical system. including your amp.

yea dude if ur running 3200+ through a stock alt. you should look into a 250+ amp alt. Im running a 300amp on my blazer and pushing 5300watts and still get drop even with 2 additional 2400s in the rear of my truck

Ive tested it and it drops down the 13.8 on hard notes and then goes back up to a steady 14.5. And there arent any other alternators out there for my vehicle so I have what I have. I have 2 1800s as well, so that is helping somewhat.

then you have your gain set EXTREMELY conservative.

no way will you run a TRUE 3200w off a stock alt and only drop to 13.8V

Its more than halfway up on my Colossus. Im not stupid...I do know my sh!t especially my car. Being that the voltage is all controlled through the computer makes it more difficult to build a better alternator than the stock 160. Bigger diodes would be needed, but I still dont trust it.

And its for sure giving out the full 3200+ and my 5200s are laughing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

im not calling you stupid bro. im just saying, there is a catch.

how did you set your gains?

Whatever you think. If you are ever in Ohio, I will be glad to show you. I was as surprised as you all are when I found it out. Given that out of a 160 amp alternator 80-85% of that is used for the stock electrical, I think its pretty good. Did my Big 3 and ghetto'd the battery wiring up to see how it all sounds, and I am getting around 13.8s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That amp is pulling like 300amps IF you have it set at 3200w. I'm just saying there is no way you dont drop below 13.8 on a stock alt. With 2 1800's or not. What car is this in?

On the amp more than halfway, and on the stock HU the bass is at 2 (goes from -9 to +9). Anything higher than 2 will cut off the power since my HU is giving 2v output at best. But I aint lying, maybe its the sweet Kinetiks:p:
