I have an Alpine Type-R dual 2 ohm voice coil sub running at 1 ohm from an Orion HCCA 225r amp. It has 400 watts going to it peak at 12 volts. My cap reads at 14.7 volts so percentage wise, it should be around 500 watts. It hits hard in my subzone ported box.

I just bought a Orion HCCA 250r amp and it should double my power. Will this make the sub hit harder, or just cleaner.

Also, I could get to dual 4 ohm subs, run them at 1 ohm and get them 400 watts to each. Would this be louder than 1 sub with double the power?
