more power or more subs

lil boom. heres my best advice to you,

think about it, listen to the people on the form, they pretty much no everything about everything when it comes to car audio,

also as far as what to buy, invest in some 0 guage and do your big 3 and replace that 4 gauge back to the trunk with 0 guage,

also it wouldnt hurt to get a nice sized battery, this will help your current amp out and will allow you to go bigger in the future,

one more thing, DONT listen to your local shop.... =/

after you have a bit stronger electric to back things up i would recomend getting a nice sized amp, but remeber quality is key, do research and consult people here about who to buy from.

two amps strapped then?
Honestly i still have zero idea what he's talking about.

Pretty much listen to this right here and read through bcae1.com start to finish. Also try to learn sum car audio terminology, because a lot of what the OP is saying doesn't make sense to us. Just read through a bunch of threads and try to learn as much as u can here.

But the first thing that needs to be done is big 3 in 1/0 gauge and a big battery in back(can leave the stock batt too). Change your power/ground wires to your amp to 1/0 gauge also.

Cheap basic setup to start with would be something like an Audiopipe A1500D @ 1ohm w/ 2 12" Alpine Type-R D4s/ FI SSDs/ IA LIs.

yes strapped

....i've learned alot here..

in want to upgrade ...i want to have better then what i have

money isnt a issue ..i just dont want to spend money on things i dont need

thats why im thinking more power or more subs

my first thoughts were 1 high powerd sub(new orion hcca 15)but being here and lestining to other thoughts and expierence so far not a good sub for daily a beating and sounding good....

now what i have ben getting from people were

fi

audioque

dd

dc

fi looks to have the power

audioque looks nice yet not as much power

so what wiill do better...both loud and sq

ok

1.limited space(cant get a much bigger box in me trunk)

2. nothing against 12s...but since ive tasted 15's i dont want to go back(hits notes wayyyy different)

3.money not an issue

4.i get board

5.i know about the electric

6.im done with beginner setups

is more power what im looking for?

^^^ HUH?? FI looks to have the power?? WTF does that mean??
IMO w/ the big 3 and a extra batt in back... I'd run an AP 1500d @ 1ohm w/ 2 12" IA LIs.

Btw what do u drive?
fi has the btls 2000rms:sneaky:

i drive a 91 regal

You don't have the proper airspace to use 15s so it's pointless to get them. A single higher power 15 would work better in your case then. Obviously you've never heard a proper setup w/ 12s, 10s, or even 8s if u think that only 15s can hit certain notes.

Ok i'll line up a decent lil system for ya, that will blow away what you have now...

15" FI BL D2 - $300

Audiopipe 1500d @ 1ohm - $200

Knukoncepts kollosus 1/0 gauge wiring for Big 3 and power/ground from the amp $70

Kinetik 1400 under hood + 2400 in trunk. - $450

4ft3 @ 33hz w/ 50-55sq in of port - $$ Depends on if u build boxes yourself or not

Install costs - $$ Depends if u can do it yourself or not

You say you're done with beginner setups, but it seems as though u have no clue what you're talking about car audio wise. Those two usually don't mix what so ever, usually ends up in a piss poor setup and equipment getting ruined.

so big 3

upgrade wires

1 2kwrms sub/or 2 1kwrms subs

added battey to the rear

and a amp

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ohsnap.gif.17c4c91be09a7a4a3995fb7145adac39.gif

Yep, but w/ your limited experience I wouldn't run anymore than 1500w daily without an HO alt.

Honestly the setup that i put down for you would be perfect man. It will be a HUGE upgrade and as long as it's all properly setup then u will be impressed w/ the output.

sorry but i have to call it out, who wants to put down money that hes not gonna listen to anything any of us say

listen, i have had some 12s that will KNOCK YOUR FACE OFF and will beat almost any 18 out there, (rockford fosgate TRFS, they WILL take 4000 watts rms)

i have some 10s that i would put money against on your kickers,(true bass ultras)

seriously you need to either

A. ask for advice AND listen to it

or

B. do it your own way...

the people here are GREAT and DO know what there talking about,

and im liking where marlo is going

good luck...

1. A porper size ported box for 15s is about 3.5-4 cuft per sub after port and sub displacment and that box isn't near that at all.

2. I have seen setups that are about the same as yours and their owners couldn't believe how much harder my 2 12s slammed compared to their 15s.

3. State something like $1000, $45, or something lol

4. I get board to, when i wake up in the mornings

5.If you know about the eletric why haven't you done it already? At 4 ohm on that quantum (I used to have the 2000d) you are seeing no more than 500. Get the Big 3 done, put a big ah batt in the trunk and run that bish @ 1ohm where you will see closer to 1500watts.

6. You still talk like a beginner, Do some moer reasearch around here on the forum.

Oh, and check out http://www.rdaudio.net they have some pretty good stuff.

im confused

drop speaker size and maybe drop 1 speaker

and build a box thats about same size as the 1 i have overall andf i should be slammin

ive ben playing with rockfords box wizard

what if i put 2 boxes proper sizeside by side(idea might be able to fit as 1)

you get the idea(thing is i would have to cut out the brace behind the rear seats , istalll the box from inside the cabin and bolt the brace back in)

rough scetch

I don't know how many times we need to tell you... Do ^^^ this and read up on "bcae1.com" .

You can learn alot from what Marlo has posted. He's definitely one of the most knowledgeable guys on the site.

I have a system alot like what they describe. My system is alot louder than guys with more power and more woofers. That's because it doesn't have any components that are bottlenecking the system. 1/0 ga is handles the right amount of power that the batteries are capable of... and the box maximizes the subs' output to compliment my car. Meaning, it gets loud and low (even for 10s). Louder than I know what to do with. Use 1 - 15" or 2 - 12" AQ's, LI's, Type-R's, or BL's. You won't be disappointed.

We're not trying to mislead you. Big amps and more subs don't matter unless you do things the proper way. You will stomp most of the local dudes' "bigger" setups, if you follow the good advice given.

every thing being said is true. an ya listen to marlo he gives good advice an good set up ideas. an u stated early about audioque's only bein 1000rms. well more like 2500watts or less on the HDC3 copper series. an up to 3500 on the aluminum. so if u wanted to go that route u could just get one aq HDC3 (copper series) 12" or 15" D2 on a aq2200d amp. put it in the right enclosure an there u go. if money isnt a issue then up grade ur alt to a HO alt, big 3 upgrade and a battery for the back an one to match it under the hood. since im guessin u have room for 2 12's u could get 2 HDC3 12s on 2 aq2200d amps. dont do 15's if u dont have the space. thats just a waist of money. u could get some nice components for the front an amp them an there u go u got a solid system.

i have a system written down like the one above so if u have any other questions about it feel free to p.m. me i'll give u as much help as i can.

also for u 2 really start learning about car audio just please listen to most of the ppl on this forum and use the search button. i started gettin into car audio about a month ago an i'm on here everyday an i've learned so much from just reading stuff. so just read an get educated befor u start buying things.
