ok so i have a custom bulit teampsi 18 with dual 1ohm coils. now my amp is an mb quart that is 1 ohm stable. my question is can i use 1 of the coils in my sub or do i have to use both? and is there something i can buy that will act like a dummy load but not use half the power? so i can wire the sub down to .5 ohms and still be able to use it on my amp, like something to make the amp see a 1 ohm load even though my sub will b wired to .5 ohms?

it would help if you stated what mb amp it is, then someone that has used one could tell you if its fine to run at an initial .5, or you could try it yourself. and no running only one coil will hurt your subs feelings.

ok no first off i built the sub. second i HAD to use a coil that was dual 1 ohm because the motor i had was not to the standard size. i had a huge issue using a 3 inch coil. i wanted the sub to be dual 4 ohm but the only coil size that teampsi had that would fit my motor was dual 1 ohm coils. my motor was 2.995 inches for the pole piece and thats way to large to use a 3 inch coil. its not that i built a sub that i didnt understand. belive me i started the project in september and the sub was bult in late may after months of research. i just got this amp at a great price and it isnt doing what i thought it would do at 2 ohms thats all.
