Like build pics or what materials he used to produce it. Prolly MDF baffle with Evercoat or other filler is suspect. Also, how is it mounted? Just to the plastic door shell or the inner metal panel. FYI its an Escalade (GM), if that matters. Thanks in advance.

How the hell are any of us supposted to know?
maybe someone has done something like this before.

it looks pretty cool, i'd like to have something like that in my ride...

it looks like the mids are mounted from the back. thats about all i can help you with.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

edit: or is that just a fiberglass panel. wasnt there a grill there already covering the stock speakers??

I'd kinda like to know too. I want to make some pods over the stock 5x7 locations in my Mark VIII's doors for some 6.5's... I know how to make em, just not how I would mount em...

Just looks like a painted MDF baffle........with moderate woodworking skills and some decent paint, it shouldn't be too hard to replicate
Thats basically what was done. Some guys make a fglass mold first then add the baffles, but I think its not necessary to do that much work. I may attempt to make some of these baffles as long as my jigsaw cooperates with me.

yep. just a piece of MDF cut with a router, then drilled onto the stock mounting location thru the door panel.

painted to look pretty, speakers mounded from the back. actually quite simple really.

That "baffle" is where the stock grills go that cover the 6.5 mids and tweets in '01-'05 GM trucks with the upgraded stereo. Take the pannel off with the two screws. One underneather the window and doorlock switches and the other directly under the armrest. Next lift the pannel off...be careful not to rip the tweeter wire out. Next, bend the little tabs for the grills and they come off. Then cut the pannel to allow 2 mid-bass drivers instead of the one and a tweet. Next make a frame out of whatever (popcicle sticks, mdf, balsa wood, etc...) stretch the fabrick and glass. Screw it into the pannel when done. make MDF, rings for the Pannel to door area to either run a better sealed IB or a baffle in the door, or just seal the whole thing is probly the best idea. How that helps some. I can take pics of what the stock location in and behind there looks like to give you ideas.

I have torn apart my door panels a bunch of times before, I was inquiring about that actual fabrication part of the baffle. Thank you though.
