More Batts or HO Alt.

I got 500 bucks, should I go with 3 batcap 2000's or the HO Alt? HIstory: My vehicle has a stock 160amp alt. I'm currently running 1 T20001BD @ a lil over 1 ohm. My lights don't dim much, but voltage does drop to batts resting voltage. I want to hook up my other T20001BD. I have a durlast gold in the trunk and my stock batt is also in the trunk. I was just about to order the alt when I decided to get you guy's opinnion first. Do I need the HO Alt or would getting 3 batcap 2000's and 2 runs of 2/0 work. Don't want to spend, if I don't have to.

honestly both but if you can only afford one or the other i would say the batts. my powerbass xa 4000d running @ .75 holds up pretty good on stock 130 alt stock, battery under hood knietik hc2400, hc600 in the back and its needing more badly

if youhave the few extra buck i say go with the Alt. if not bats may work out for you. depends on how often and long you play your system. if your charging system cant keep all the bats chared in the first place it wont help much.

Thanks Bro, both amps have 250 amp fuses, not sure of the amp draw, probably some where close to the fuse rating. Just wandering if I could get buy with the 160 alt and 3 2000's till I can get the alt, or will my system do better getting the alt first then getting the batts latter.

Between those two options, I would go with the 3 batcap 2000's.

Get an alt. A big one, so when you want bigger amps later, you don't have to spend a shitload on batts. Or if you have extra cash after the alt, sell all your batts you have now, and buy the biggest ones you can, and your electrical should be pretty **** solid.

So it holds pretty good, but you think you need more?

Obviously an HO alt if you can find one under that budget. If you are already hitting battery voltage now, you will be well below battery voltage after adding the second amp. Doubling your alt power would be the best thing you could do. I would also strongly recommend ditching both your stock and duracrap batteries in favor of some better batteries. Deka Intmidators are usually very inexpensive and are pretty kick *** batteries.

Take out the HC600, it is probably going to burst in that setup. Add another HC2400 and you should be just fine.
