Just ordered my HO alt from Matt at mechman.

Well after 9 months of getting quotes and beating my head on my desk trying to decide I ordered my alternator. I had gotten a quote from HO, thier prices just seemed high for the power output. Then on recomendations here I contacted Dom, his prices were reasonable, but communication with him was terrible. So I contacted Matt, many here say his power output at idle is the best around. His prices were good, he was easy to talk to, answered all my questions and said my alternator would be shipped out today.

On and working like a champ. All 6 batteries sitting right at 16 volts. Put on a new green stripe belt with it. A new tensioner pulley to keep things tight. And new 1/0 runs from alt to batt + and alt to batt -. Just was to lazy to crawl under and do the alt to chassis ground in1/0 that will get done when shes in the air sometime.

mechman alternators are a great bang for the buck alty.

I can play 4krms full tilt, at idle, and stay right around 13 volts.

sweet. I talked to him through PM and he was really great. I havnt ordered one yet but I plan on it. He told me 150 amps at idle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I like how for my car he makes a whole new case cause the stocker is so small. Most companies just cram it full of wire to get high amps but it kills you idle amperage and the alts life.
