more batts bad for alternator?

Ur uncle doesnt kno what hes talking about lol
he said it's going to cause the alternator to work harder charging the batts and that I would need a HO alt. My system will never pull more than 1000watts rms gross (without losses), so I don't know how a second batt will harm the alt.

It wont adding a 2nd batt will reduce the strain on ur alt..yes it will take a lil more to charge a secondary battery but not that u will notice at all
