This is the product they use:

They clean out the whole plenum chamber and the throttle body with actuall rags ( big cotton ball looking things idk )

Is this worth $110 or should i just use seafoam or somthing else?

Advice or opinions are welcome!

Thanks!

Ive began using lucus gas treatment. Seems to help.

i would start with something like that and then move to the next thing if needed.

And sorry, I missed it, why are you thinking of doing this?

1991 Range RoverIt has a 3.9L Buick V8 w/ 212k miles

where do u get that fuel?
find out where you can get race gas from and just get a gallon of 104 Sunoco. Most of those "fuel treatment/cleaners" are just high octane fuel with a few conditioners to eliminate the "gas" smell. btw just a little 411, knock is typically caused by using low octane fuel that is why they claim to eliminate knock b/c high octane fuels eliminate knock due to burning at a slower rate.

I dont have knock I just want to clean out all the carbon out of my fuel system.

Is it better if you take the product through the PCV value or does it have the same effect of putting it through the gas can.

i've personally used seafoam....first time i used it....about 2 tankfuls later i took my valve cover off to paint it...valves were clean (well as clean as u can get with 200k miles on the car)

i suggest seafoam every 3k miles (mid way thru the oil life) half in the gas tank and half in the crankcase. does wonders.

and no u dont wanna use a 104 octane race fuel...the higher the octane the longer the burn...which if ur vehicle isnt built for higher octane is a waste of money in 2 ways (more $$ spent for fuel and money spent to have valves reseated due to carbon/slime buildup)
