Mono Amp and Speakers

I have a profile ap1000m in my garage from my old setup and was wondering if i could run 2 or 4 speakers off of it or if i can even use it for speakers

Hey, most mono amps are just for bass, so that wouldn't work for your application. I sent you a pm if you were interested in selling it to buy a two channel. Let me know.

You can't use a mono amp to power full range speakers.

Nothing will be damaged by it....but you won't have stereo sound....so it would sound horrid.

unless, of course, it's a full range mono (like the profile) and you have one amp for each side.

most monoblock amps are for subs. it probably has an internal subcrossover i am guessing. if your amp has a switch for the crossover to select high pass, low pass and so on just use that setting so you aren't sending a low frequency signal to your speakers( i guess you are wanting to run some mids and highs with it). You should be able to use it if you have either a component set that has its own crossovers or have an electronic crossover to hook to the amp inputs to filter the low freq's out. It is probably 2 ohm mono stable so you can wire up a pair of 4 ohm speakers in parallel to it with no trouble. How many speakers are you wanting to run with it? Only thing is that you won't have any stereo separation or any kind of contol other than the gain on the amp.
