They'll go down to .35 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

So, if you can run the 1501D at one ohm daily, why didn't MTX make them one ohm stable from the factory? That question has been driving me crazy because I can't find a decent answer. Seems to me that if it was safe to run it at one ohm all day everyday them they would've made it that way. They could sell more amps for people needing one ohm power. I just don't want to fry my amp six months down the road because of running it at one ohm, ya know what I mean.

1. Current, it draws A LOT of current @1ohm

2. Market

3. With the mod you are basically removing the protection circuit. So, QUITE bad for inexperienced kids. It probably was more costly to implement a design for a 1ohm mono amplifier with all the features such as pretection as well.

4. Older model now, look at their new "super amps"... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. I think they caught on...

Just my take on things... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Well that's definitely the best answer yet. Here's one more for ya, how much is a lot of current? Need to know if I can run it with my 200 amp alt. Thanks man, peace.

Yeah, you can run it no problem.

For a modded 1501d @1ohm I recommend:

200+ Amp HO Alternator

Deep cycle under the hood (Such as Optima Yellow Top)

Big3 in 1/0

Dedicated run of 1/0 to the 1501d

I ran two 1501d's, one on each coil of my MT15 @.7ohms daily. And I have a HO 220amp alternator, Kinetik HC2400 under the hood, Optima D31 Yellow Top in the rear, Big3 in 1/0, and Two runs of 1/0 to rear battery... and it was STILL tearin my shit up... at least @idle... heh.

w00t.
