mixing subs ok?

is it ok to mix diff brands/models of subs in the same system? any reasons why i shouldn't?

i am going to purchase a 12w7 or 12idq or 12idmax for my car. but i have an old 12w3 just lying around w/o a car. can i use the w3 with one of the other subs.

Yeah you can mix, but you will most likely get 2 different sounds, it would be better to get the same.
