I'm trying to figure out how to achieve the best sound for my car, and am a bit lost on what to do with the front set. Looking to reuse most of the equipment I already have, and have purchased some other stuff along the way. Here is a quick breakdown of the setup.

Car: 1991 BMW 325is

Sub: JL 10W3v3

Amp: JL XD1000/5

Rear: JL C5 650 Components

Here is the problem. The car originally comes with 5.25 inch speakers front and back. The back is easy to cut out a hole as the speakers are placed in the rear deck, which is easily replaceable if I ever want to revert back to stock. The front however would require me to cut metal, which I am not willing to do. Knowing that a set of 5.25's will sound much weaker than 6.5's, I figure I will need to balance the sound with some proper tuning. Also the front speakers are placed low by the feet in the kick panels.

My main question/thought is this. I'm looking to get a set of JL C5 525's, but also order a C3 tweeter which is slightly bigger. The regular C5 tweeter is a silk dome 0.75", the C3 is a 1.00" silk dome tweeter. Would this be a worthy upgrade to match the C5 woofer and crossover with the C3 tweeter to get a bit of a better sound up front?

Note that the C5 tweeters that come with the set would not be wasted, as I have another old set of C5 components with one broken tweeter that I have been looking at replacing anyways.

Thanks in advance!
