Currently running a set of DDC 6.5's off a ED9.2. My problem is I have some how blown one of the mids and

needs to be replaced. Is it ok to replace the DD mids with a different brand? I still will be using the DD crossover

and the DD tweets but was wondering if I could use a different brand mid? I know i could just buy a replacement

from DD but I would like to use a different brand Mid if it's possible. Appreciate any help.

The only potential problem I would see is the passive crossover network.

With that said, I ran a Alpine Type R 6.5 with a CDT TW-25 tweeter using CDT's SatNet 500 crossover with no problems. In my wife's vehicle, I am currently running Alpine Type R 6.5s with Genesis Profile 16 Tweeters off of the Alpine Type R passive crossovers.

Just make sure your replacement mid is 4 ohms since your passive crossover network seems to have been designed for 4 ohm drivers.

Appreciate the info gunz. Other then having to be a 4ohm mid is there anything else I should know? I need as much input on this as possible before i spend $100 on mids I can't use? Thx guys.
