Mint 67 Shelby Gt 500 Came By The Shop!!!! Intent To Sell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All 402's are 396's bored .30. From what I was told, I'd have no problem boring it .30. I'm just doing a mild build on it, nothing crazy. Just pistons, head work, bearings, cam etc...
yes...but if you bought a motor that was an origanal 396 and you bought it as a 402....you can't go the normal .060 over only .030 over...so if ya blow it up it's toast

Well I guess the objective is to not blow it up lol. I'm good with my stuff so I don't have to worry about that. I want to put a 454 in it eventually....

Well aware of it chief, I never defined what year I was discussing with you. You spouted off with the typical hot headed YOU CANT BEAT A CHEVROLET mentality...which you can, it's just more expensive...it's called, a 440 6 pack hemi, or the boss 429...which was late 60's early 70's..then it fizzled.

Your talking stock a) for stock b)..that's exactly what I said. (Not defining a year again)

Muscle car era...with not anywhere near as much muscle as technological advances have allowed today and now....

Yes I called the BBC a piece of shit in the context in which it was in (in an alleged gt500 k code mustang). It's a very solid motor..I own quite a few of them. They are cheap to fix and last for a long time..easy to get power out of. Which is why they are popular at the drag strip on the rail cars...on small strips and bracket cars. However I have my doubts if you'll find a big block chevy on a top fuel car, or in a nitro funny car. Let me know if you do...lol. (That's more then 1% btw)

Straighten your bow tie son, you got it all crooked in your tizzy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I've got them all...i'm not biased, except in scenarios such as this gt500 with a chevy motor in it.
i never said they were on nitro rail cars...or funny cars...just that they were on 995 of the rail cars at every drag strip....keep in mind there are less than 100 top fuel drag cars in the world

its a 350 not a 500 not all orig it sits to low the engine paint is wrong and the rims arnt the correct size but thanks for playing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and they had dual exaust..

well your certainly not beating a chevy with a 440 hemi...cuz that didn't come from the factory...factory vs. factory the ZL1 corvette made 670hp and weighed about 3100 pounds, was rated at 430hp...with slicks the car would do 10.9 @ 130+ mph...so no...in the late 60's early 70's you couldn't beat a chevy if it was a ZL1
Explain why a vast majority in 1969 was running the cobra jet cars at the drag strip then? Versus the 427/and/or 454 Camaro?

They also came out with the 'drag pack option' which consisted of oil coolers, and 4.30 gears with the 4 speed for gear jammers....

10.9 on a bone stock car? (minus slicks of course) in 1969-1970 on pump gas?

Interesting....

Looks like we're looking at 11.80 @ 122mph

Regardless still faster than the mustang on that graph..

But at the top we have...what's that? A **** Plymouth...then a Dodge?

Well I'll be, I was right!

not gonna bother reading all 5 pages, u can tell the motor is in a 66-67 chevelle/malibu. u can tell by the engine bay and the dash. who ever thought it was in the mustang is dumb

I would offer $5 and a footlong.. Ohh wait, thats subway ...not quiznoos..

never a big fan of those fords. I like the 68 fastback is all.

theres a bunch of those "clones online for 10-20k. Someone said that like post 2 i think. Good call.

I once had a 78 mustange II 4 banger. It was my first car. Wrecked it Halloween night, shit like 22 years ago this friday.

I bet that would be worth maybe $500 by now.

My current Project.

54 olds 88, Stock, original.

a small block is 5x's more reliable than a big block
If you build the engine correctly with the right parts, anything is reliable. It's when you beat the shit out of things that reliability is an issue. If the 350 that is in my truck is in fact a 4 bolt, I might rebuild it for another vehicle.

Very nice car!

My grandfather has a 56 Crown Victoria glass top car and some Tbirds..not a huge fan of those though.

I really like the old mobsters cars from back in the 30's

That Olds is beautiful! I want....I think it's called a Starfire?

yup a Starfire with a 425 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.
