Mint 67 Shelby Gt 500 Came By The Shop!!!! Intent To Sell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope
But the boss 429 did, as did the 428scj cars...and look what they are worth now. You put a chevrolet 427 engine into a numbers matching boss 429 or 428scj 4spd car and you just shit out about 250,000 bucks in a heart beat.

That car either had a 6 banger or a 289 hipo at best in it from the factory...most likely a 289 2+2 automatic car...
429 never came in the 67-68 gt500s, 428's were only rated at 335hp but were underrated(as were the L88, L89 427's)

Well aware of them not coming in the 67-68 500's, you were picking the 'what came with that kind of horsepower stock' fight, so i picked it as well.

I never defined a year. I know the BOSS series of cars was much later, I would absolutely LOVE to have one of the boss 429 cars!

They were all underrated for insurance purposes...

I'm well aware of everything man, your not pulling any wool over my eyes...my family has been into cars since the mid 1930's...

no no no no no no no no hold up there bow tie bubba.
I've got walks of life from all brand names, there is no bias there....jeeps, imports, big block chevy stuff, street rods etc etc....

You don't put a chevy motor in a mustang, you don't put a 428scj motor into a camaro.

It's sacrilegious.

I'm well aware that you can make more power cheaper with a Chevy motor...not afraid to admit it either. But I won't put a Chevy motor in a car of that nature (especially if it was a legitimate K code car)

I've got 2 454's sitting on engine stands waiting for vehicles lol.

Gotta admit the gt-r skyline engine in the 67 on fast and furious was cool shit though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Born and bred a chevy boy, but I'm not stricly bowtie either. My all-time favorite car is the 1934 Ford 3-window coupe (another car you see chevy engines in a lot). Like I said, that motor shouldn't be anywhere near a mustang unless it happens to be in a chevy that's lined up next to it on the drag strip. I agree with you 100% there. That car (if it were real) came with a hell of a motor and, if anything should have a Ford Racing, Roush, etc motor in it if you're going to build a fake.

No doubt about that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...drag strip guys run mostly chevy stuff, it's cheap to get power out of...

Unless you play with the big boys..and all of them are based off of Hemi designs and blocks...

Friend of ours here has a funny car now...it's freaking WILD

I can't help that I too was born with gas in my veins //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

you called the BBC a piece of shit...i was simplyy pointing out that it had more hp than anything that came in that car or a 67 gt500 or gt500kr....go count the BBF's at the drag strip next time and see if there's half as many BBC's there...99% of the rail cars in america are powered by the BBC

Piece of shit chevy motor in a nice car.

Distributor's from ford are in the front.

It's a fake...not worth 40 grand..much less 20 grand...unless it's a legitimate K code car...

If it was a K code car...you'd LOVE to have the engine that i have sitting in the 51 (numbers matching 3 2's 428SCJ)

And numbers matching big block 4spd combo for that car....

PS it's a 65, not a 67.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It's not worth anywhere NEAR what he's wanting for it...not even close to what you would consider offering....

18k would be VERY steep for a botched up car like that.

yup yup yup!

I'm putting a BB 402 bored .30 over in my truck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well aware of it chief, I never defined what year I was discussing with you. You spouted off with the typical hot headed YOU CANT BEAT A CHEVROLET mentality...which you can, it's just more expensive...it's called, a 440 6 pack hemi, or the boss 429...which was late 60's early 70's..then it fizzled.

Your talking stock a) for stock b)..that's exactly what I said. (Not defining a year again)

Muscle car era...with not anywhere near as much muscle as technological advances have allowed today and now....

Yes I called the BBC a piece of shit in the context in which it was in (in an alleged gt500 k code mustang). It's a very solid motor..I own quite a few of them. They are cheap to fix and last for a long time..easy to get power out of. Which is why they are popular at the drag strip on the rail cars...on small strips and bracket cars. However I have my doubts if you'll find a big block chevy on a top fuel car, or in a nitro funny car. Let me know if you do...lol. (That's more then 1% btw)

Straighten your bow tie son, you got it all crooked in your tizzy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I've got them all...i'm not biased, except in scenarios such as this gt500 with a chevy motor in it.

402 is a great motor, be careful though, as some 402's are 396's just bored out, therefor you maybe only able to go +.040 over the 402ci

glad someone beat me to it

All 402's are 396's bored .30. From what I was told, I'd have no problem boring it .30. I'm just doing a mild build on it, nothing crazy. Just pistons, head work, bearings, cam etc...

well your certainly not beating a chevy with a 440 hemi...cuz that didn't come from the factory...factory vs. factory the ZL1 corvette made 670hp and weighed about 3100 pounds, was rated at 430hp...with slicks the car would do 10.9 @ 130+ mph...so no...in the late 60's early 70's you couldn't beat a chevy if it was a ZL1
