Oh shiz, forgot I bumped this thread.

It's the 5.25. If it was for me, I'd be totally disappointed by its performance in its box, but it's for the gf, so she doesn't seem to care.

I did get to play around with it on about 600w, and the box seemed to keep the driver from destroying itself. Coil seems fine too, still nice and copper...y.

I think it'll do its job well though.

So while working on other projects, I decided to pick this one back up and finish it. I remade the amp box, with a bit of a twist this time. I used 1/2" mdf, with the same 1" roundover bit, giving it a pretty unique look. I don't have room to mount the plexiglass to the face of the box, so I'm going to have it float in the opening, attached to the circuit board and heatsink instead. I think I'm going to paint them a glossy super white.

And I think I've been shopping too much at Ikea lately and it's starting to show in my work....
