Mini Computer Speakers

Omg man, I hooked up my new amp on those Aura mids (the unnamed black things) and am sending 'em 100w/channel, and am running them at 90% volume. They hold up so **** well it's insane. They do have a lot of port noise at this volume (didn't expect them to be able to play this loud anyway LOL), but sealed they sound AMAZING (port plugged). You'll love them, I swear. Plus, they look sweet when they're at Xmax (look like mini subs lol). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Unnamed black things?

I decided to skip sending these to the shop to get primed, since that was usually the step that took the most time to get done, so I picked up some filler primer and went to work. The blue painter's tape wasn't staying in place enough to protect the drivers, so I switched to the green 3m automotive masking tape. Wehn taking it off today to check the coverage, I noticed that the glue stuck to the surround basically anywhere it was attached. I'm going to try some thinner or alcohol or acryli-clean to try and clean them up, as well as any unmasked spots.

I also just powered these up for the first time today, and all i can say is wow. I wish I had bought more of these things. The bass is much more prominent than in the little 1 inchers, and I can even coax a 50hz tone out of them at higher volumes before breaking up.

The glue looks like crap in real life, but I managed to get most of it off in one try with some Acryli-Clean. It got a lot of the paint off too where I didn't mask enough.

btw the boxes are only primed sofar. Paint will be glossy black.

wow they look amazing, nice buildd vidz of excurzion?? these are auras or tb's?
They're basically debadged Aura NS3s. They were a buyout on PartsExpress. Now I'm desperately looking for more, since the actual black ns3s are 20 bucks apiece.

I actually just picked up a new toy that should put out enough power to get some movement out of them.

It's a discontinued wireless speaker receiver/amplifier from Ratshack. I hope to use the amp board without the wireless features to get it into a smaller case. I got it for 15 bucks. The guy at RS was kinda suprised since they apparently started out at $150.
