ive tried everything from polk sr's, powerbass 3xl's, boston, etc and none of them sound good in my car! i have been feeding each set there rated power. door's are deadened, sealed properly so on and so forth....but all of them sound like crap! i have a 97 prizm. i dont have the time to do comp's so i stick with coaxils! but the thing is, every time i listen to anything it is just unpleasant the highs are over powering, mid bass is lacking everything just ****'s. never had this problem until i got this car. so please help

i dont need new speaker's! i have plenty! i want to know why this sound's like shit in my car, when installed in another car it sounded awesome! oh well i guess the car isnt built for accurate audio re-production......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

unless someone has an idea as to why this is happening!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Try reversing the polarity on the speakers and see if that helps. Other than that if you spent the money and time to deaden the doors, then pony up and buy a good set of comps with about 100-150watts per side. Id upgrade your HU in the near future as well.

well actually my gear is fine thank's! i figured out that the rear of my car has better acoustical response that make's a huge differance! so with that said i grabbed some of my polk crossover's, installed them then messed with my fader and put them more to the front and holy crap it made a differance! but i still think i need some better crossover's and an eq! thank's for the replie's
