:confused:I am thinking about buying some subs but there seems to be one problem. each dual coil sub had different impedences. one is 2+2ohms and other is 4+4 ohms. So I am thinking that I can just bridge the amp and run a total load of1.5ohms. What do you think about this idea for midbass....

ok...well I will start by saying that your bridged amp will probley not like to run 1.5 ohms, but only 4 ohms bridged like 90% of all bridged amps.

Next, why would you buy mixed coil subs?

Lastly, can the subs support midbass freqs?

My amp does bridged at 2ohms.

I wouldnt do this normally. I just saw a good deal on midbass and the catch SO HAPPENS TO BE... the seller only has the 2 ohm coils and 4 ohm coils. and they are elemental design 6 inch midbass.

This is just a what question regarding way it would sound. Thats all.

If it wont sound good having bridged midbass then I am going to pass up on those. So Does the forum members think it wont sound good with mono bridged midbass sound? FYI I would have them in the kicks... Just asking opinions ...

dont do it, each speaker will get a different amount of power.

Let me get this right: You have a sub(s) that are running off of some amp, and midrange/tweets that are running off another amp(s), and you want to add midbass, and bridge those mono? If that is the case, I wouldnt do it. If you need more midbass, just get a decent pair- I have heard good things about id oems, also there is a tang band people ar talking about- and a 2 channel amp, and you should be set.

The way my system is set up is. I have a four channel XTA360.4 and a XTA 360.2 and my mono PA3000db.

I only have 4x6 in the doors ( car is coupe) and I got 6x9 in back deck pushed by the 360.4

The front stage is not loud enough. I want to get some midbass and put them in the kicks and run off the other amp...... ( hence the stupid idea. ) That’s all I was trying to do. I KNOW THE POWER WOULD BE OFF on the mids if I did that. I was just checking to see if anyone had an idea about how it might sound.

So to clarify my decision. I am not doing it. I will keep looking for midbass.
