What would you get instead of ...

1) Alpine SPS-600 6-3/4" with a budget of $200 for the replacements.

2) Kicker KM10 10" marine sub.

These would be in my 2005 Nissan Titan KC, with the 6-3/4" going in my rear doors. (Yes I am the one who asked the weird question about these speakers being only in the back of the truck, with no sound coming from the front at all).

I'm looking for very loud with great bass for my mostly rock music, but it doesn't have to win any sound quality contests, produce a perfectly flat response, etc. Just pound and crank without distorting!

I guess I'm sort of also asking, are these nat'l name brands close to being the best stuff, even in the running, or are there far better brands/ models out there that are less well known to a newbie like me? If there are, what are they?

I'm also considering an Alpine PDX-5 (RMS 75Wx4 + 300Wx1 Class D) to power the above plus possibly some front 6x9's ... Same question: At $600 is this a decent amp? Or are there better at this price level?

you want to place comps in front,you really don't need 6x9's

yes i think there are better sounding comps out there.

1)if your'e going active, then you can buy raw drivers to your taste.which can be cheaper & more expensive depends on what you buy.

you could buy that alpine amp, get a head unit that has a good processor,

2)if you go passive then yes, there are better sounding comp, which will cost you more money, but remember placement,deadening,aiming will play a great part into what your'e looking for.
