mid bass, looking at options

First of all the sundown 6.5 is a sub. Don't even think about putting those in your doors lol.. I think the re xxx 6.5 would give you the most midbass. The image dynamics x6.5 have a early natural roll off so it doesn't really produce that much midbass.. They are considered SQ though and I hear they are very sensitive like many of their products. Do you already have a tweeter or no? The last option is a coaxial. It's an all in one but won't give you that separation you need for good imaging. I would consider getting a 2 way setup first if you can. Otherwise if you wanna keep it simple with no tweeter install, coaxial can work.

i think i already knew the answer about then sundowns, lol...The RE where my top choice tho

You arent gonna fit the sundown in your door. Look up silverflute 6.5s if you want proper midbass drivers.
this ones? for that price, I'm getting them then..

honestly i rather avoid anything with tweeters. i hate them, there scratchy and annoying. there's 2 factory ones and i would prefer not to add any more to be honest.

yes those are the ones.

You just never heard proper tweeters, factory tweeters are pretty horrible.

on that note, would it be convenient to replace front 6x9's with better 6.5's at the front?

probably, factory ones are enough for being stock. back in the day one of my dude's had about 4-6 of them cheap one's spread in his van, and sht I'm traumatized for life

actually I think you are looking for a midrange driver if you expect it to take care of vocals and such too. That silverflute is a strictly midbass driver and needs to be crossed low. Look up soundqubed pro audio 6.5s, they sound pretty decent full range.

You cant go cheap with tweeters and you need to set them up properly. Again, you've never heard proper tweeter setup at all. Way back when i first started car audio, i hated tweeters too, made the music harsh sounded but all i've heard were stock and factory setups. When i heard my first properly done tweeter, I cant imagine music without it anymore.

actually i was looking at these fro sq:
6.5's

Amazon.com : 2-Way 6.5" Coaxial Speaker (Sold As Pair) : Car Electronics

6x9's

Amazon.com : 3-Way 6"x9" Triaxial Speaker (Sold As Pair) : Car Electronics

but my biggest corncern where all them tweeters....would the base be good?
those have tweeters lol

Speakers arent meant to produce bass as in bass made by a subwoofer.

these dont Have tweeters and make very punchy midbass when properly AMPED with full power along with proper door treatments.

http://www.513electronics.com/how-to-improve-your-vehicles-bass-sound-dampening-part-1/ There are 9 parts, make sure you perform each step if you want the most out of your setup.

QP-MR6.5 (Sold As Pair) (Grills Not Included)

ok, I'm trying to add an JBL ms8 and a JBL ms-a1004 down the road for mids and vocals.. should i try new speakers on a factory radio or nah, go full into it? I've had so many shty systems that i think factory works the best.. what 6x9's you recommend? btw so many tweeters where the reason i discard those sq's

The installation, acoustical treatments and tuning will make or break your system, You lack on anything, its gonna all go to sh*t. No power will make the speakers sound weak. No acoustical treaments = zero midbass. Not properly crossed over drivers = blown drivers/bad sound. Bad signal source = bad sound. Poor tweeter choice/positioning/signal = harsh sounding tweeters. Remember, just because something sounds bad initially, doesnt always mean its bad, its mainly user error in not being able to get proper sound out of speakers.

Also i linked to the proper soundqubed 6.5s in my earlier post man. The ones you chose were the wrong ones.

Got a pair of NIB ID CTX 6.5cs for sale. $160 shipped and they are yours. Bought them from another member on here but having a baby in a few months so I have been told the $$$ is more important than better comps :-( .

These should have pretty decent mid bass...at least over the polks I have. I was shocked at how heavy duty the mid bass drivers were compared to my polks.
