Membrane enclosure

I was reading around on some other audio forums today and saw a post talking about using some sort of membrane or something as an enclosure. It is suposed to be small and allow some air to breath out so it acts like a larger enclosure. He didnt go in depth about how it is made or where you can get something like this. Has anyone ever heard about this or done it themselves. If I could make or get one of these it would make fitting an 8 in my door possible.

It's called and Aperiodic vent or Vario-Vent. It lowers the enclosure Q of a sealed for greater damping, allowing you to use a smaller without losing performance.

USD was doing it back in the mid to late '80's, back when big subs needed even bigger boxes. Not that it doesn't apply today, but the subs today do well in much smaller boxes.
