After alot of research I got my mind set on the HSK165's. Is there a better choice for my set up?

Alpine 9886 or 9887

Zapco Reference 350.2 (100X2)

Mid size truck (only running front stage)

Mids in doors

Tweeters in top of dash (stock location)

Not sure on the sub yet, Single SQ 8 or 10

I was thinking about the JL C5's because I could hear those at my local shop. JL is the only brand that is around for me to hear but the HSK's seem to be a really good speaker.

You have a single cab S10??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I'm doing the same thing. I have an 03 S10. I have the Alpine 9887... trying to decide between the HSKs, the MLKs, or the new Alpine Type X Pros. Also have a single Type X 10" and an Alpine MRV-F545/Alpine MRD-M1005. Trying to decide if I want to go with a second 10" and second M1005... not sure yet. My suggestion would be to go and listen to the speakers. I'm doing just that tomorrow at a local shop that I found sells both Hertz and higher end Alpine. People can give you all the advice in the world but only your ears know what sounds good to you.

P.S. Tweeters in the stock 4x6 location sounds great in the S10s... I had one last year too that I did a nice Pioneer Premier setup in. Sounded fantastic.

I just got hsk 165's, and i couldn't be more in love with them. I was about to say they are pounding, but their not pounding, they have a different sound, a sound that makes you smile and be like.. woah i got nice speakers. They get so loud and stay so clear, DEFINITELY reccomend them!

No way!!...No Chevy for me man, 05Nismo = 05 Nissan Frontier Nismo

As far as getting to hear different speakers thats my problem. The only decent brand around is JL unless maybe I drive a few hours somewhere but I dont feel that would be worth it.
