i need help installing my new amp. i have never seen an amp like this one, its a bass mekanik amp pt-1100. my question isnt really an installation quesiton but what to fuse the amp at. in the book that came with the amp it says to run 110 amp inline fuse, but on the amplifier it says "fuse at 40 amps." the amp is a digital amp, us amps classifies it as a "T" class amplifier. it has 2 12 volt power connections and im not sure if im suppose to fuse both power connection with 40 amps or run both power wires off the same 40 amp fuse. i know this thread sounds confusing, so here is a link to the website http://www.bassmekanik.com/carstereo/amps/

the amp needs 2 12volt connection and 2 ground connection. i really need help with what fuses to run and where to run them

thanks

------------------Are the power/ground connections for 8 AWG or 4 AWG?

I would fuse it under the hood with a 200 amp breaker or wafer fuse. Run 4 awg to the trunk-into a fused distribution block and run 2 8 awg wires out of it to the amp(use 60Afuses in the distribution block).//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

- - - - by the way...What did you pay for that amp? good choice.

im running 4 gauge already, and also running a usa-100 us amp. u mean 60 amp fused for each 12 volt?

this is my project today, replacing one of my usa-100s with the bass mekanik and putting my new subs in 2 PG titanium's

i got an awsome deal on the amp 275 including shipping. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif SICK

thanks for the info btw

two. i have one that is from the last model before the switched the model to a usa-400, and i have one that seems older, i bought it off of ebay. its a green amp with and etched us amps logo on it...not a nice metal logo with the double sided tape on it.

what did u have in mind for trade? the green one i just got like 3 months ago

i dont wanna sell my other us amp, i paid far to much on it (419. +tax) plus i've had it for almost 3 years now

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...
