Bunch of complicated bullshit about alot of things youll likely never use unless youre doing alarms and security. I think the most pain in the *** was remembering all the diff types of relays, resistor codes, door pin switches, and alot of random shit. MECP has a study course/practice test somewhere on the internet.

I'm graduating high school a semester early so maybe I'll study up and get certified. I hate all that security/alarm shit though, but that's where the market is.

You may want to pick a different field then, the pay is shit compared to the stress with alarms. Ive made 200-300$ on the side working less than 10 hours a week just doing car audio, it varies though. My cars pretty loud inside and outside plus its an old school "box" style car so it seems to get attention and bring me business. I dont touch alarms or anything. When circuit city went out of business i bought all their dash kits/wiring harnesses/amp kits so i usually do pretty good deals on installs plus i have all the materials.

I was told I couldn't work in a shop without the MECP. I would do it on the side here but there's no market for it, I live in a town of 2500 and it's just hicks galore.
