I dont get everyone who thinks that huge amounts of flex denotes a loud car. I am hovering right around the 150db mark and my car doesnt flex for crap and I am pretty proud of that. Everyone else is banging 140-145 and posting up how much their windshield moves and how their mirror is falling off. Car flex =s trashed car and less DBs and it doesnt necessarily mean youre loud. I have a buddy who probably does no more than 133 and his little accord flexes to no end. Think Ill post a video and show how loud I think I am. Dont get me wrong its neat to see a car get ripped to shreds by sound, but IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU loud.

I don't understand the posting of flex videos. I could understand a walk through showing the system. But I don't give a fat rats arse if your windshield moves or not. I prefer to listen to the music the system plays, not the shitty car around it rattling like a tin shed in a hail storm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

at least with most of those you get to see some *****. Granted some of them you would like to unsee, but that's beside the point //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hairtricks are a display of true awesome if you ask me. Thats gettin wiminz and showing how much air you be movin. I see a flex video and Im like great, your car is built like a pie tin. now lemme see your stereo

Well...my car is only a daily, so I don't care about getting every last deebee and spending hundreds on deadener, so I'll just stick to destroying my car, I guess.

I want to break shit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

To each their own but spending hundreds on deadener doesn't really improve SPL as much as it improves sound quality. Since that is more what you are going for, maybe you should try it out. AudioWrap isn't that expensive and it works quite well. The general rule is: If it's movin', you're losin'. That's with your enclosure as well as your loading walls. Any panel flex in the rear of the vehicle is not desirable. It is the same as a passive radiator moving 180 degrees out of phase as your woofers. The reason people sometimes claim deadening hurt their SPL score is because it changes their resonant frequency. If they were perfect before the deadening, they will almost certainly be worse after the deadening. If their box peaked just under their resonant freq before and now they deaden, they should see a nice little increase.

I don't flex a whole lot compared to others anyway, considering I have a blowthrough in a truck. It's like having a trunk car sealed off, you're not relying on the waves to reflect off a surface, they're already directed at you.

I have some deadener on my back wall for the blowthrough, but that's it.
