MechMan alt problem again?

Any luck man?
From reading through it sounds like to me a blown ECM.

You should call Chris at MLA and tell him about your problem and ask him what's a safe range of max charging voltage.

But from all the shit you're having it sounds more like the cars computer problem.
no a wire came lose from a front madule and sparked and blow 3 fuse....

whent to all the shops in town and cant find any belts besides a 1/2 smaller and wont fit on.....
find a bigger pulley for the idler or take the one of the tensioner just make it work or give up and go home and don't come back. you don't wanna be like some people, a failure do you? make it work.

that's what my old man would say. can you space the alternator away from the block with some shims????

So it was instaler error?

Seems to me someone needs to spend more time under the hood of their car.

Also about your belt slip.. How can you feel it in your car? As far as I knew and expieranced belt slip was heard in a high pitched squeal. And if your having that hard of a time finding a belt then change pulley sizes or try to adjust ur alt to where its a tighter pull. And if your that clueless go to wal-mart, get a can of belt dressing and spray that on all your pulleys. David Chartrand swears by that stuff and it helped me as well.

1, it shakes the car, all the lights flicker, floting voltage 14.6-15.3 all times.

2. i got belt condisoner for "belt slipage" and still no dice.

also when the ext volt reg is off all the problems go away, but no charge. The volt reg is on a toggle switch on my dash. The toggle switch is right to my front batt

how do i go about doing that?

with washers... but what good would that do?

The reason the problems stop when you turn the alt off is because its just free spinning.Once you energize the field there is to much resistance causing the belt to slip.

Have you looked into making your own tensioner?

Swap your stock pulley for smaller Mechman pulley and put stock belt on.

Course that defeats the whole purpose of Mechman higher at idle, but if you honestly cant get 1/2" smaller too fit its your only option
