MechMan alt problem again?

also big 3 is done, 3 runs of 0gauge from front to back and 2 runs of 0 gauge for the ground but there 5 feet long each just to unerneath the car onto the main frame, paint off. its a great ground

Thats all you got and your voltage doesnt drop below 14?

yeah when the mechman alt worked the frist time i had it set 2 15.3 volts and never whent below 14.8. @ full tilt. it was crazzy loud

2 aq 2200ds strapped @ 2 ohms so 4400 rms cuz they where @ 15.3v

I'll never understand why people who have no business using an external regulator get one.

Sell what you have and buy an internally regulated alt.

i feel that you were putting to much stress on the alt(over working it) for that much power i would of atleast have 3 d3100's and a d2700 in the front

cuz my jeep reg the voltage 2 always set @ 13.8 volts. i want more power. 15.3 is much bigger and when it drops its not down to 12v. Any some time down the road ill do a 16v set up god lol

my buddy has an 04 jeep gc and has only 2 3100d no big 3. 2 runs from front to back, stock alt. with 2 aq 2200ds @ 2 ohms aswell. drops from 14.5 to 13.1 and been doing to for about 2 years no problems lol

also, my external reg for my mechman alt made my engine act weird like it would make a funny noise and alter it a bit and it would pump out more smoke from the exaust LOL.. when i took it out everything went to normal again.. might be just the external reg.. send it back for an internal one..

when i had my stock alt in with the same batts i went from 13.8v to 12.5 not to bad but its low.
