MDF rings

I drive a little nail in and use wire and a pencil to draw my circles, but that sounds like it works good too. THe biggest problem I have is my saw blade going crooked and getting see saw edges on the cuts.

As for mdf rings, it would be very much worth paying someone with the proper tools to do it than spending a few frustrated hours making rounded firewood.

its not rocket surgery. good grief. why not just pay me to do it and be done with it since its so complicated. if you give me the od and id i can do them today. after today i will be too busy with the rest of my install to go back and do them.

I've cut holes with a jigsaw all the time...'

Just put a dot where you want the center to be, measure a few times around the circle (the radius) and draw some lines there. Take a scrap piece of wood, nail it to the center, make a small hole in the wood which will be at radius of the circle, use a pencil and move it in a circle....or tie a string to the length of the radius and do the same thing.

Then follow the lines with the jigsaw... to start the cuts, I take a drill bit and make a hole large enough to fit the jigsaw blade in it.

SHA BAM

Yea, pay this guy to do it. He seems bored/hungry lol!

nots not a godd enough answer as to how big you need. my 6.5 were almost 8" on outside how big is the opening were speaker is going 7,8,6. just take a quick measure.
my 6.5s arent here yet,in route from dealer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

The 6.5s I have here are 7 3/8" wide on the grill. That is what I would use to make some. Alittle wider for tolerances.

I am currently out of 1/2" MDF to make the flush rings out of. I will pick some up soon. And to let you know, I use 1/4" hardboard for the speaker baffle.

If you are interested in what I have to offer, I will take $30 shipped a pair assembled with rounded over rings.

If you are undecided, I will post a pic of a set on a door. It isn't the greatest pic though. And I will make a couple pair and post them soon as I can to help you decide.
