Ok here goes. I've been deadening my doors slowly. And I planned on making a MDF Ring for my speaker but I realized one thing. My speaker attaches to the door panel, NOT the door itself.

If i remove the panel the speaker comes with it. Theres no way for me to mount the speaker to the door itself. So should I still bother with a MDF ring? Or just use non hardening modeling clay. If I did the MDF ring route I probably wouldn't be able to get the grills back on(They snap in place and are very easy to damage.)

You can use a baffle. It's better than mounting on the stock panel. Adding the MDF will add a bit more mass around the area, and that's a good thing. Sound deaden your panel and use closed cell foam (such as raammat ensolite foam). Since it's plastic, it'll want to resonate so you're going to have to get the panels as sturdy as you can.

Yea. That's what I did. I mixed the glue with the dust from sanding and fill in the bigger holes. Then filled the rest with wood filler..works awesome

Yes. Only thing is the leads will be encased in resin. Keep in mind that this is an assumption.
