as you can see in my sig i got MBQ premium comps. they handle 130wrms a piece but im only givin em 75w a piece with my 300/4. so i wanna get my moneys worth outta them. now i know the raa4200 is still 30w shy of my comps rms rating, but isnt that amp underated? and the 300/4 is def underated right? any1 know by how much, for both amps? so hows this amps SQ? durability? efficiency?

Well I have the raa2400 on my MBQ Premiums which does more like 250 in the real world and they love it....they will basically take all the *properly applied* power you can throw at them. Try bridging that 300/4 and see how they sound.

As far as the Reference amps, I have owned all 3 of them at one time or another and they have all had pop, click, pop "issues" with them which to me is a minor annoyance more than anything....they all sounded good and are very flexible and all come with "gain setting for dummies" (ie clip indicator lights) which are really nice.

A move from the 300/4 to it would be a slight impovement in power as I thought I read that a member on ECA benched his at ~115 watts per channel into 4 ohms. They are pretty hard to get now that Crutchfield has sold out of them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

yeah, thats cool, but im mainly worried about SQ. is it a bad idea to go from JL to MBQ (dont get me wrong, im german, and i love german engineering...and RF)? and pop click issues are no problem ive had them with basicaly every amp ive had.. that indicator light is kinda cool, but ill still use the DMM when setting gains, so its kinda useless ya know?

what was the bench V?
