I would take those MB Quarts hands down lol Those JL's don't compare in SQ to the MB's

Another set you might want to look into are some Polk Momo's

Very strong and solid speaker...

If you get the quarts though don't push them with a big amount of power they have a tendency to be a little weak....

but are still amazingly built speakers etc.

really this new news to me... lol i have had Premiums, and running q's now. and lets say that they LOVE power.... my mids each are getting 130watts. and the premiums i had got 100 watts rms and loved it... and im runnig them active. my tweeters are getting prob 50watts each.

Oh yea, why's that? They are made in the same **** factory and everything!! IME they have a similar sound, with the Quarts offering superior off axis performance.

They will only get better with more power.

Those quarts are a good value... but if you can find ppi- dcx or orion p series or WWC, they would be a better buy around that price... even the orion and WWC sound like the higher end Quarts that cost twice as much. Since ike has so much Directed stuff as it is, I would call them, perhaps they can get them for you even if they are not listed on the site.
