MB Quart comps vs. JL Audio comps

MB 6x9 vs. JL 5x7/6x8? I don't care what anyone says about 6x9s. I bought ADS 6.5" comps (retail $299 on sale at ebay for $99 last week) on a tip from an "expert" in another forum and they're great (well-balanced, etc.) but don't fill up my car like a 6x9 and the bass doesn't compare. They sound a lot like my Polk MOMO 6.5" in the front.

And why are some of these speakers advertised as 5x7/6x8? What size are they really? They can function as one or the other?

I didn't even bother with 5x7's...built a set of MDF baffles for 7's and haven't looked back since.

5x7 / 6x8 is a size commonly used by ford, mazda and occasionally chrysler. It is consideralby smaller than a 6x9 speaker.

6x9's are commonly used by GM, Chrysler and some imports, like Honda.

I love MBQ's btw.

I did the same thing. Round is where it is at.
