MB Quart Amps

The old Orion HCCA competition amps were great. I'll take them over any of these cheap amps they make today. Amps were better in the early to late 90's before most of the good companies got bought out and turned to crap.

Where can I go about finding these brands (Arc Audio, Helix, McIntosh.....)? I'm looking at sonicelectronix.com right now and don't see those brands at all!!
Woofersetc.com has them.

Non mainstream brands are harder to find because businesses get more profit by selling mainstream brands. Also some companies don't allow online sales unless you're an authorized dealer.

thats your opinion unless you tried every amp out there on the market and prove that orion hcca was better than any amps today other than that its hear say

So what amp brand would you recommend for 2 12" 2ohm dual coil 500W RMS subs? Should I get 2 amps?
one amp will do fine and if your on a tight budget maybe you wanna check out the MB QUART DSC1500.1D, mb quart DSC4125,Hifonics BXi 1610D,HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi-1210D

I'm looking for a Class D amp. I haven't heard much about the Hifonics brand except to stay away from it. And the mb quart DSC4125 is a Class AB amp. Now for the mb quart DSC1500.1D amp, it has only one channel. How would I hook up two subs to it and still get the full 750W RMS pumping?

What coils do your subs have? D2 or D4?

Even though its a mono, it has 2 pos and 2 negs for your speaker wire.

hifonics and mb quart are Manufacturer by the same company and there no really no risen to stay away from hifonics there just haters out there that get mad because they will do good as much as the high end expensive amps for less price

the amps i tested where nothing closer to there higher end products.. its a good budget products... people abused them and they didn't hold up like there higher end stuff.. doesn't mena there bad but by no means are they as good or better than amps more expensive.. i tested a brutis 2k aginst my RD 1750(very similar board to the SD 1500) and it just wasn't up to par.. it was about 120 watts down from the RD and it didn't have the dampning factor the RD had.. the AQ 2200 also sounded better and put out more power..

not knock MB or hifonics but its not meant to be a highend product.. there meant to be budget equpiment.. in order to get the name back the price cut is tremendious..

if you want a great MB amp that is underrated and very clean heres your sign...

PAB 4100 - MB Quart Premium 4 Ch 400 Watt Amplifier

oher than that i haven't been impressed with any of MBs coxials and comps.. there woofers aren't bad..

there are mcuh better speakers for the money.. example the pioneer TSD720C comps are just 150 bucks shipped and they really do sound like a 300 dollar comp set.. hell the PRS set are under 300 and ther compare to many many 500+ dollar sets.. pioneer has the money and means to beable to do this unlike alot of companies.. as for there subs and the mid line h/us they aren't what they used to be..

I was impress with hifonics bxi2010d I had doubts at first about the amp because how people where saying how they would not buy hifonics and stuff but I went with hifonics anyways and it turn out to be a real great amp to me so cant really go by what people say untell you try the product and I have a pair of the newer mb quart discus components with the wide sphere tweeters and I tell you what they sound great with a little power running to them

hifonics is good bang for the buck guarenteed. and they look nice. i on the otherhand have had the older 1500 watt brutus and 1200 watt brutus go in smoke. yet when i ran my atomic 5000.1 at a lower impedance, my american bass at lower impedance, and now my db drive amplifiers in combination at lower impedances...never had an issue. they are good daily amplifiers. but i wouldnt recommend them for a big groundpounder where you push it hard everyday.
