MB Quart amps at 0.5 ohm?

Is this safe for daily? My buddy swears up and down they are, but I'm weary of doing it...

I'm gonna have two 1500s strapped to 0.5 ohm. Electrical is going to be a 136A alt, big three in 1/0, two runs of 1/0 front to rear, 90ah agm starter battery and 200ah in the rear...I know ah isn't the best way to tell how good a battery is for car audio, but these batts are legit.

If you strapped those at .5 ohms, that would mean each amp is seeing .25 ohm. Don't do it

The specifications manufacturers provide are there for a reason.

If it were .5 or .25 strapped stable... we would gladly stand on our soap box and say so.

As far as I know the Discus 1500 is NOT strappable - do you just mean running two sub amps to one sub?

You might be able to get away with running each @ .5 ohm only if you have enough impedance rise, otherwise your amps will go into protect or burn up.

It is a tough call man. If you were running at .7 ohms or so then I think you would be okay after rise.

i wouldn't run a pair strapped lower than 1 ohm personally. just saying.

I didn't mean strapping at 0.5 ohm, I meant strapping at 1 ohm/running each amp at 0.5 ohm. I'm still against doing it though...

you will probably still be fine with rise. i'm gonna get another later on and run both strapped on a pair of sa-15's.
