MB Quart 1 ohm stable.

I've got an MB Quart RAA2400 that does 800 watts bridged into 4 ohms. Now here is my question. According to db-r.com

"If you have say 16-24 MOSFet's on the Power Supply section, and only 8-12 MOSFet's or BJT's on the Audio Output section, you likely have an expensive amplifier that is actually 1 ohm Stable."

This MB Quart has 16 power supply fets, and 16 BJT's on the audio output sections (8 per channel). I am curious to see if anybody has one of these and run it at 1 ohm, or know's if it is possible. It has a protection crcuit that I am sure will cut it off at the low of an ohm load. Is there a protection circuit mod that anybody know's of? Just kinda wondering what I can pull out of it at 1 ohm. Now that's 1 ohm bridged, not per channel.

I know there are some amps that don't state it, but are built well enough to be able to handle it. The only thing I am worried about is this one get's really hot running at 4 ohms, so I don't know how well it would do at 1 on heat. I am going to try it tommorrow and see. Hopefully it won't go into protect and I can see how many watts it's pushing at 1 ohms roughly.

Wired them up to 1 ohms today, and fired it up. It run like a champ. I only let it run about 5 minutes, playing some euphoric bass, but it got really hot. I did the ol' VxV/R=wattage formula, and came up with roughly 1480 watts at 11 volts (car was off). I don't have a DC amprobe so I couldn't tell how much current it was drawing. Would be great for burps, if a comp. ever comes this way.

cool, glad that worked out for you. I dont know if I would run that MB Quart that low even for that short amount of time but you seem to know what your doing.
