max mounting depth for comps in expy doors?

I've tried searching but couldn't find anything. I'm going to put 6.5 comps in the front doors of my 2000 Expedition using the adaptors from ebay. I was hoping someone that's already changed theirs knows the max mounting depth so I know what options I have. Or if you've changed yours and know what mounting depth yours are that would help too. I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

You can go on crutchfield.com, enter in your vehicle info, and they'll tell you which drivers will fit your doors. You can look at the mounting depth on those drivers and use that as a reference when shopping for speakers.

Depending on how your doors are, you could use a dremel tool on the back of your door panels to give you some extra room.

As far as I know, if they say it fits your car, then it fits your car.

The thing is..their specs for mounting depth on, say Pioneer's, may differ slightly from the specs listed on woofersetc.com. You can use that to compare them though. Should give you a good estimate.

ID CX 62s barely fit in my door with 3/4" spacers

Squeak is that in an Expedition? If so did the spacer present any problems with the door going back together?. Any sound deadener? Thanks.

Its in my 97 Expedition. I took my grills off just in case. I'm fiberglassing over them anyways eventually. I think they would fit fine under there with with 1/4" spacers and not hit anything while they are playing. You can go deeper, but the window will hit it when you let it down. Mine almost touch the window.
