Alright i got the maw-15 in today, initial impression was that it had alot better build quality than my previous sub the PG RSd. The tinsels were woven into the basket and the surround look and felt much better. It is in 2.5^3 sealed and has great SQ, nails every note effortlessly. I may try a ported box because i desire a little more output, but im not sure cause the SQ so far is amazing. Although this car is piss hard to get loud it seems. Currently it is on 600rms and seems to want more, so should i give it 700rms or let it break in some more?

Awesome, I'd say give it some more power, just be careful with the gains..

nice. i actually just put my maw15 in yesterday, 2.2 sealed, and love it. giving mine little more than 600wrms right now and can't complain. greatest $105 i ever spent i think.

I saw a few vids of it i believe off of 800, it had alot more excursion than it does now. Right now there is no mechanical noise or anything so im sure it probably could take 700.

Maw 15 seems to be the closest sub related to an IDQ I would almost reccomend the maw over the IDQ just because of the price. I have mine in the same size box with about the same amount of power and would probably give the same review. I love its SQ sealed and really the output isnt bad, but i would like to put it in a ported box to compare the SQ sealed vs. ported

Yea, let it break in... You'll notice when it breaks in, it becomes considerably louder (at least it did when ported)

alls i know is that my maw 15 didn't really like 1000 rms that well. It took the power but hit max excursion quite a bit. 700 should be fine.

How do you fella's know what RMS your exaclty getting to your MAW?

You use a multi meter and set the gains appropriate for what wattage you want. And then figure the sub is seeing a tiny less due to voltage drops and whatnot.

I fed 800 to mine no problem. I have it at 600 watts now tho. It was in a 3 cube box, 52 sq. inches of port, it hits pretty **** loud. Just bought another so im going to feed 1200 watts to the pair.

It's worth it man. I bought one for shlts and giggles and ended up loving it. Now im getting another one lol. 6cube box ported to 30hz on 1,400 watts.
