Massive Audio....???

Hi all......

i have a few queries about 2 Massive Audio amps, D5000 & DB3000

are these amps .5ohm stable..???, specs only state a 1ohm capability....

has anyone ever run one of these amps @ .5ohm, maybe..???

someone i know has asked me if he could ''burp'' @ .5ohm but run daily @ 2ohm, personally im thinking they'll certainly run .5ohm..... but how long for is another matter.

they would likely handle it for burps. as long as there is enough electrical to back it up. and if its a .5ohm starting load then rise will bring it closer to a 1ohm load.

no.. you need to know what type of protection circuit they use and how mcuh of a rise you have before anyone can answer that question..

the sundown audio amps are great with low loads...

He isn't asking about Sundown amps...He's asking about MA amps. You have to test it man everyone's box rise is different I've wired subs to 1 ohm and the amp was putting out 3ohms after rise..Some amps are rated stable @ 1ohm in the sense that you can wire the subs to 1 ohm...not that the amp can even be run on 1ohm actual daily output...I've seen amps rated to be 1 ohm stable and go into protect @ 1.5 ohms after rise because the subs were wired @ .5 trying to reach a real 1 ohm...

A real 1 ohm after rise is a huge current draw, a lot of heat is generated and will more than likely pop one of the amp's protection circuits from either heat, or fuse etc if exposed to that current for prolonged periods...Then again some amps won't pop **** and just catch on fire! GOOD LUCK!

so im guessing you just don't understand what i said..

Yea but see dude Sundown no matter how awesome they are, and I'm hugely brand loyal to them, are not the end all be all of .175 ohm amps...They've been around since 06 and there were seriously 5kw RMS amps running on .33 ohm loads daily since the 90's...e.g. Massive Audio 4ks c. 1996?

I only quoted you because you randomly nuthugged a brand with no bearing on this thread..Sundown which I run...a SAZ-4500D...You see me nuthugging and namedropping for no good reason? Yes sundown is an amazing brand but he's asking about Massive audio which I also run...a DMX15-Stage2.

All this electrician info / life story also has no bearing on anything at all..
