My delima.... Suggestions/comments/input please...

Massive Audio CK6 or Alpine SPX-17REF? I am also open to anything else that is comparable (or better) for around $200.

I have a Hifonics zx6000 2 X 150 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms to push.

This is for the front stage of a 2006 F150 SCREW. Just getting started here... also thinking about adding a couple of Alpine SWR-T12 subs after a while

I have the CK6 sitting in my closet. I have looked at the several times and cannot wait to get them installed. They are beefy comps and I have heard nothing but good things about them. Based on what I've read I would go with the CK6, but this is just my opinion and not based on any testing.

I have heard the Alpine, but not the massive. The alpine are okay I guess, but for what they cost there are much better available. From what I hear the massive have great midbass, but the tweets are alittle bright for some, but idk I have not heard them.

For $ 250, you can get the hybrid audio claurus that would shite all over both of them though.

I've got 2 sets of the CK6's going in tomorrow but it won't be run off the amp until the box is built. I say the CK's.

Mounting Depth = 3” (76 mm) afraid that is going to be much to deep. Thinking about 2.6 is about all I can go.

I had some massives a couple years back and they where definitally decent comps I'd expect the new speakers to be a good competition for the cdt HD and the likes..

I remember that it has been commented before that the new SPR-60C sound better than the SPX-17ref. refs have good tweeter but weak midbass. Also, CK6III have a reputation of having good bass, but loud tweeter. The CK6V that will be soon available will fix this.

That's misleading because clarus costs >$500. HAT Imagines cost $250. They're supposedly good, but there is no tweeter attenuation, and people have had inconsistent experiences with those tweeters when converting those speakers into component mode. For $250, I'd still be tempted to run HATs in bi-amp mode, but if the budget is under $200, Massive is probably a good choice.

Clarus C61-2 are $500. Imagine I61-2 are $200.
