massive audio 3000.1

considering buying this amp, and upgrading my alt..... it says 3000w rms, but i hear it only does like 2600 wats.... will a powermaster 170 amp alt be enough to feed this beast....

Are you sure about this?. It does 3k RMS at 2 ohms, if not more. This amp is a beast. The max rating is 6k watts. Massive is one of the better manufacturers out there. Info on this amp could be found:

It's a hell of an amp. I have two of them but only using one. The manual states that you must have a 220 amp alternator to run this amp or the warranty will not be honored. I have a 145 amp alt and dual Yellow tops in my Escalade and it never dips below 12.5 volts. There you go; facts from a proud owner.

page 5 if you are wondering and right below the 2680 at 2 it says 3000 max at 14.4 volts........

I asked massive about that also. I sent them an email and this is what I got back.

The power is @ 14.4 V, 3000 Watts RMS at 2 Ohms (only 2 Ohm Stable) 6000 Watts Max

headbussa, what year is your escalade and do you get any dimming? Are the two yellowtops in addition to under the hood battery?

I have a 2003. I do get VERY slight dimming when the bass hits low and long but nothing that bothers me. I do know that with my old setup, at 2400 watts rms and a 5 farad cap, I didn't notice any dimming at all. I have a yellow top under the hood and one in the back.
