Mass Storage HU Options (ie: kwood music keg/usb)

The time has come, I've given up fumbling with cds. Even with MP3 storage on cds it's just not enough and after an ever piling stack of cds in the truck I've decided to go with a mass storage unit. I-Pod is not an option (most HUs should come I-Pod ready regardless) I know some that love it but this is not the unit I'm ready to settle on. I've heard great things about Kenwood's music keg and if I could track one down for a good price I would go this route without thinking twice, unfortunately these are up on ebay sporadically and are selling for more than the cost of the newest Kenwood HUs. I looked at the new Kenwood HUs with USB interface allowing the user to hook up a thumb device or portable HardDrive, after reading some reviews/research I decided against this. There has to be something else out there!????? I mean what are others using? I want to be able to control my playlist directly from my radio and I want a big storage (40 gigs at least). I know the Eclipse Double Din units have a built in hard drive but double din isn't an option in this case.

There really arent many more options unless you buy a unit that plays DVD-R's and burn more music onto one CD.

You dont want the ipod, Dont like kenwoods USB interface and arent willing to pay the money for music keg. I cant blame you for any of the above as I was in your situation. I just bought an ipod and have been happy since. I just wish pioneers interface was better, but I am working on that.

I've seen and really liked the interface on some clarion in-dash units, but again I'm not going I-Pod so I wouldn't buy around it. 9512ds you got PM, I've got the XXV-01D right now and would love to just slap a keg on it and call it a day.
