standard marine batteries ARE starting batteries. They are just built differently to stand up to the marine environment better. Unless it specifically says DEEP CYCLE it IS a starting battery.

every marine battery I seen said deep cycle.

MOST marine batterys are DEEP CYCLES with low CCAs, but Extreme marine Batteries ie. Optima Blue top, have plenty of CCAs to crank a car.

Yup, ,thats what I was looking at. Optima blue tops, I can get a good deal (hookup) for 2.

Most marine batteries are dual purpose. You will find some that are starting only. I would recommend you check into the AGM (absorbed glass matt) batteries. They have more reserve capacity than the Optima.
