I live in a duplex and my neighbors always chain there dog outside the front door and I have told them time and time again to STOP IT someones going to run him over...........WELL I go to back out the driveway to go to the store and bam I back over there f*cking dog, in between the time I got in my car and started backing up the dog walked out of there opened house(yes they chill with the door open "party people") now the dogs not dead yet but they won't take it to the vet I'm half tempted to take the dog myself but can't afford to take on this bill atm! what should I do? I have never hit an animal before, much less my neighbors animal and I have the feeling if the dog doesn't see a vet it may die by morning. needless to say it's been a sh!tty day.

Tell them you're going to call animal control if they dont take it to a vet. The bill wont be your problem then. If they dont when animal control shows up they'll either put the dog down or get the police involved for animal cruelty for letting the thing suffer.

I thought about that, just calling animal control but don't want to cause problems with them as I have to live and share a wall next to them! The f8cked up thing is he said he was taking it to the vet my wife called ahead for him he borrowed the girl that lives there's car and left ...shows back up 30min later when my wife goes to see what going on he had took the dog up to the local BAR WTF? then brought it back and gave it a bath? I just hit it with a car and your giving him a bath wtf is wrong with him other then he's been drinking since noon.

I carry a full modded Beretta 92fs INOX w/crimson trace laser grips and 21rnds of pdx-1 147grn bullets, I did think about putting him down but I'm in the city and I believe law enforcement would have a real problem with that, and I like animals and feel bad enough as it is. I would rather put one in the owners leg for not listening! Then telling him to walk it off like he told the dog! maybe take him to the bar for a drink after?

I'm not letting it go I'm trying to figure out if I'm over reacting atm the moment theres no blood but he's limping and not putting any weight on one front foot

he went right under the center of my car so if the animal only has sprains and bruises and I call animal control/police and say he's neglecting his dog because he won't do what you or I would do and it turns out the dog is fine, now I have to live next to them with constant attitude for reporting them when he said I think he's fine! That is where I'm at not whining or b!tching just trying to figure this out as I have never been in this type of situation. I'm not worried about anything I did as I was being completely responsible in the situation and no one has stated otherwise I just don't want to yell fire if there isn't any!

I'm just mad because anyone else would take the animal to the vet I own several animals and care very well for all of them at this point I'm wondering if I should take the dog to the vet and eat the bill to make myself feel better they may say he's only got bruises and sprains there are no obvious broken bones but I like to stay on the safe side which would be a check-up but I can't force my opinion on people.

I'm trying to get up with my sister she worked for vabeach animal control for a while before taking a better job still with animals but not putting them down, she'll come look and let me know what needs to be done.

it's only bad advice for some people like me, I would be arrested for discharging a firearm in city limits all my firearms removed my home and my ccw pulled for a LONG time if not forever.
